Continued improvement, 60lbs lost

Sunday August.31.2014 when I stopped taking pain meds for the first time in over 5 years. Currently I am only taking Medical Marijuana.

Days without pain meds: 180
Days without prescription meds: 127
Pounds lost: 60 (186lbs)

Here is my current regimen

1/4 tsp 1x Day Phoenix Tears Infused honey (put in tea) In evening

0.5 ML 2x per day 10mg/ml CBD oil

For Nausea and beginning/slight headache - Vaped - Black Tuna/Dead Head OG/Death Bubba

My improvement has continued. I am walking 30-45 mins per day and now in the last couple of weeks I have added in a bike ride every other day. I have my limitations though. I attempted to lift weights a couple of weeks ago over 3 days and everyday I ended up getting a migraine after. Low impact exercises like yoga, active stretching etc. I am ok with. I will be attempting to go back to work (very slowly) in a couple of weeks. This is a major step as I have been off work for well over a year now.

I am now down 60 lbs since August 31. I have made some added dietary changes and have cut out gluten and dairy since November. Both are based on intestinal issues, but getting a stomach ache could easily trigger a migraine for me as dehydration usually follows.

I have come across more and more people on the web who have been having success as I have with their migraines/headaches. For those in Washington/Colorado, I had mentioned about Mary's Medicinal CBD patches. They are kind of expensive but someone has been having success cutting them into four and just using one of those per day. They are using it as a preventative and were having success.

I'll leave you with a short article regarding a study done by Researchers at the the US National Library of Medicine and National Institutes of Health ranking how deadly drugs are comparatively. The study "found alcohol was 114 times more dangerous than marijuana". Article Link.

A good Christmas and why Marijuana users never overdose

Sunday August.31.2014 when I stopped taking pain meds for the first time in over 5 years. Currently I am only taking Medical Marijuana.

Days without pain meds: 136
Days without prescription meds: 83
Pounds lost: 45 (201lbs)

Here is my current regimen

1/4 tsp 2x Day Phoenix Tears Infused honey (put in tea)

0.1-0.15 ML Phoenix Tears 50/50 - 1x Daily

For Nausea and beginning/slight headache - Vaped - Black Tuna

For sore Neck (mainly on right side) as needed 2-3x per week

I had an enjoyable Christmas with friends and family.  I was able to attend most events this year without having to worry too much about headaches or migraines.  I did have to bring my portable vaporizer along wherever I went and if I was going to be somewhere for an extended period of time I would bring along my stand alone vaporizer because I feel it works the best.

I didn't really have any setbacks (headache wise) over the Christmas break I did however get the flu and it has been dragging me down the last couple of weeks.  I have had way more headaches but I've been chalking it up to the flu/cold as it seems to be mainly in my head.  I always get a headache/migraine anytime I get sick and unfortunately I've had to deal with a couple colds these last couple of months.

One thing that I know people with chronic migraines can relate to is the fear of getting a migraine when you are pain free.  It's paralyzing really, all you want to do is go and enjoy your pain free time, but you know there is a risk of getting a migraine, and then not knowing when that migraine will end. I've been dealing with this lately.

The more pain free days I get the more I fear my next migraine.  The days with migraines are harder than before, every time I worry that they won't go away again (thankfully they do).  I'm out for walks again and I'm still hoping to get out for a bike ride sometime soon.  Everything I do is based on when my last headache was, the more pain free days in a row I have the more I am willing to push myself.

Although I have been sick for most of 2015, it is still a better start to the year than 2014 was.  I am thankful for my continued improvement however slow it may be.

I'll end this post with an interesting article I read explaining why marijuana users never overdose.
“When the brain is stimulated by high doses of THC, it produces pregnenolone – a 3,000 percent increase – that inhibits the effects of THC.”

Phoenix tears infused honey and Dead Head OG - Regimen Update

Sunday August.31.2014 when I stopped taking pain meds for the first time in over 5 years. Currently I am only taking Medical Marijuana.

Days without pain meds: 110
Days without prescription meds: 57
Pounds lost: 44 (202lbs)

Here is my current regimen

1/4 tsp 2x Day Phoenix Tears Infused honey (put in tea)

0.1-0.15 ML Phoenix Tears 50/50 - 1x Daily

For Nausea and beginning/slight headache - Vaped - Black Tuna or Dead Head OG

For sore Neck (mainly on right side) as needed 2-3x per week

I have continued to improve.  My headaches have become almost uncommon now and I've been able to push myself more without getting the repercussions of a migraine.  I attended my first christmas party, in a couple years, last week and suffered no migraine the next day, just a slight headache.

My regimen has had some changes over the past couple of weeks.  One of the dispensaries I frequent started selling a Phoenix tears infused honey.  I was pretty excited about this as phoenix tears tastes pretty awful.  I've been using 1/4 tsp in the morning in tea and another 1/4 tsp in the evening.  It really seems to have given me that extra boost I've been needing and allowed me to only take the oil once per day now.

I was also pushed towards a strain called Dead Head OG.  It was suggested to me because it has been helpful for people with cluster headaches.  It has really been helping me.  It is on par with the Black Tuna and I have been using it more during the day as it doesn't make me as sleepy.

I stopped taking the CBD oil as well as it was really redundant with the amount of CBD's i'm getting in the Phoenix tears.  A couple months back I tried to go just with CBD oil and I started to regress so there is something else in the oil THC, CBN, CBC's etc that is helping me.  I'm not quite sure what it is but it has saved me.

My colonics are going to be spaced 12 days apart going forward.  That is when I really start to feel the buildup of toxins (whatever they are) in my body.  I wake up with a headache, my right shoulder blade is sore and extends to my head.  My eyes feel heavy and if I didn't have any MM I would be confined to bed.  I really can't stress enough how much the colonics are helping me.

I will report back in the next couple of weeks, happy holidays everyone.

Updated Regimen, Still doing good and trying out Girl Scout Cookies.

Sunday August.31.2014 when I stopped taking pain meds for the first time in over 5 years. Currently I am only taking Medical Marijuana.

Days without pain meds: 95
Days without prescription meds: 42 (previously had gone 40 days without imitrex)
Pounds lost: 41 (205lbs)

Here is my current regimen

1/2-1 ML 10mg/ml CBD oil - 1x Daily

0.1-0.15 ML Phoenix Tears 50/50 - 1-2x Daily (depending on headache severity)

For Nausea and beginning/slight headache - Vape Black Tuna

I have continued to improve.  I am getting out for daily walks, visiting people, and taking care of my kids.  All have been for short periods of time, but I am building on it and doing more and more week by week.

I have begun to look at my improvement on more of a week to week basis now.  As a week seems to be a pretty good barometer to see if something is working for me.  Currently I am trying out a new strain for during the day that isn't making me as sleepy but still has almost the same strength as the Black Tuna I have been using.  I will add it to my regimen in my next blog post if I continue to have success with it.  For those interested it is called Girl Scout Cookies, here is the strain info http://www.leafly.com/hybrid/girl-scout-cookie.

In the evenings I have also been taking 1/4-1/2 tsp of MM infused honey.  It has really been helping me sleep and I wake up feeling a lot better than I normally do.  I will also add this to my regimen if I continue to have success with it.

In my last blog post I mentioned that I had picked up the Arizer solo. I am still really liking it, it is just a beast to carry around but I don't mind.  I'm not really looking for something to conceal, just something that will work properly and is made of quality materials.

I have been keeping my colonics to two weeks apart, my body didn't respond well when I tried to get a longer time period in between colonics.  I will be keeping them about two weeks apart unless something changes with my progress.  I am feeling good so any changes to my regimen will be minor unless I have a set back.

Still getting better & Oregon, Alaska and Washington, D.C. legalize marijuana

Sunday August.31.2014 when I stopped taking pain meds for the first time in over 5 years. Currently I am only taking Medical Marijuana.

Days without pain meds: 80
Days without prescription meds: 27 (previously had gone 40 days without imitrex)
Pounds lost: 41 (205lbs)

I had estimated Octobers costs to be $800, they came in at $650, so still quite a bit cheaper then all the prescription meds I was taking.

Here is my current regimen

1/2-1 ML 10mg/ml CBD oil - 1x Daily

0.1-0.15 ML Phoenix Tears - 1-2x Daily (depending on headache severity)

For Nausea and beginning/slight headache - Vape Black Tuna

I have been doing better.  About 6 weeks ago I stopped taking the CBD oil and limiting my phoenix tears intake as much as possible.  I noticed quite a regression in how I was doing.  So two weeks ago I started taking 1/2-1 ML of 10 mg/ml CBD oil daily again and I immediately noticed an improvement in my headaches the next day.  Also about a week ago I started taking 0.1-0.15 ML of phoenix tears daily, and I again noticed an improvement.

Little by little I'm doing more and controlling my headaches better to help with that I recently purchased a portable vaporizer specifically for flower.

It is the Arizer Solo.  It is not pretty or sleek but it is sturdy, portable, easy to clean and simple.

Alot of the sleeker, more concealable vaporizers are made of plastic and are hard to clean.  The Arizer is made of ceramic and glass.  It has a rechargeable battery that lasts for days.  So far I have no complaints, but I have only used it three or four times so far.

If you haven't heard, Oregon, Alaska and Washington D.C. have voted to legalize marijuana.  Here is the CNN article.  It seems it is a matter of when not if Marijuana is legalized here in Canada.  We seem to be falling behind the times though with all of the US states legalizing.  You'd think if there were major problems in Colorado and Washington (the first two states to legalize) that everyone would be backing off legalization, but the opposite is happening.  Everyone seems to be jumping on board.

My colonics are now over two weeks apart.  I will continue with my current regimen and report back every 1-2 weeks on my progress.

Indicas and Hybrids are working for me

Since Sunday August.31.2014 when I stopped taking pain meds for the first time in over 5 years. Currently I am only taking Medical Marijuana.

Days without pain meds: 66
Days without prescription meds: 13 (previously had gone 40 days without imitrex)
Pounds lost: 41 (205lbs)

I am still doing good, just not any better than last week.  Increased physical activity still brings on a headache, and if not taken care of quickly will turn into a migraine.  I am using way less of the Phoenix Tears, when I feel a migraine coming on I only take about a rice size dab and put it under my tongue.  If that doesn't work I take another rice size dab and lay down.  That has been doing the trick. I have been staying away from taking a daily dose of the CBD oil, just because I felt it was contributing to my fatigue.

The strains I have had success with have all been Indica or Hybrids.  I haven't found a Sativa that will take away a headache and I've even had some sativas that can bring on a headache.  I don't really think I would have believed someone who told me that they had such a different reaction (medically) to different strains of MM.

The strain that has helped me the most is Black Tuna (Hybrid).  I have found a new strain called Himalayan Gold (hybrid as well) that is very good but doesn't make me as drowsy.  Indicas work for me as well, but are more short lived in effectiveness.  Indicas don't make me as sleepy as the Hybrids that I have found effective.  Not all Hybrids are created equal though, I have had some that are not effective at all.

I had a colonic yesterday and again I've had a headache free day after, I had a pretty bad one going into my colonic yesterday.  I'm not sure what is helping me more, the colonics or the MM.  Both are playing their part though.

I have found the last 2-3 weeks pretty tough.  Although I'm not doing any worse I haven't progressed like I had anticipated.  I am going to start taking a 1/4 ML of the CBD oil daily (headache or not) and see if that changes anything over the next week.

A week to recover

Since Sunday August.31.2014 when I stopped taking pain meds for the first time in over 5 years. Currently I am only taking Medical Marijuana.

Days without pain meds: 59
Days without prescription meds: 6 (previously had gone 40 days without imitrex)
Pounds lost: 41 (205lbs)

After last weeks setback I'm finally starting to feel like I'm back to where I was just over a week ago.  It took me longer then I had anticipated to start to feel better.  Today is the first day I've been pretty much headache free (other than a headache when I woke up).  I've been using Black Tuna pretty much exclusively (in vapor form) for about a week.  It is the most effective strain for my headaches and nausea hands down.  The only problem is it makes me pretty drowsy, so I've started drinking about 1/4 of a cup of coffee 3x a day to counteract that.  I'll still keep searching for a strain that doesn't make me drowsy or hope that my body adjusts, but it's hard for me to try something different when I've found a strain works so well.

My colonics are now about 2 weeks apart, I still start to feel toxic as I get closer to my next appointment, but nothing like when I first started going.

My headaches are always coming from my neck (90% my right side), up my temples and then behind my eye.  Usually I can stop a headache before it even starts just by the stiffness and pain from my neck.  My neurologist has ordered an MRI to make sure there is nothing there.  I get relief from the chiropractor but the pain never goes away on the right side of my neck.

I will post another success story in my next post.  There are so many that it is hard to sift through them and find the ones with the most coverage.  I want to make sure I'm posting about real people with real results.  The success stories with seizures is overwhelming and it really seems criminal not to have it available to people who are having daily seizures that could end their life.
